Published Online: Tuesday, March 13th, 2018
The future of health care data may be with cloud storage services. Google recently announced its new service, Google Cloud Healthcare API, which aims to organize patient information and make it more accessible to professionals providing care and treatment. Announced on March 5, the initiative is Google’s latest foray into the healthcare industry.

According to the company, Google Cloud Healthcare API addresses interoperability challenges that currently exist with healthcare data technology. Google's new service is devised to enable data sharing and interactive collaboration, while providing a secure platform. In addition, according to the company, it hopes the increased flow of information will lead to new discoveries in artificial intelligence and machine learning that ultimately lead to improved patient outcomes.
