Benefits of Nutritional Supplements

Published Online: Tuesday, June 18th, 2019

Bruce Kneeland, a community pharmacy consultant, discusses nutritional supplements as an economic opportunity for independent pharmacists, as well as their health benefits to patients.

Bruce Kneeland: One of my favorite, and I think terribly overlooked, both health care opportunities and economic opportunities for independent pharmacists is to become more informed, more engaged, and to stock a wider variety of nutritional supplements. And to be able to explain to people the importance of these, both as a drug nutrient depletion type of program, both as a building up immunities and strengths to fight off diseases and ailments, and the ability to help people select items that might be most appropriate for them, particularly when they’re getting ready to take a trip overseas.
