Laura Searcy, MN, APRN, PPCNP-BC: We know that vaping products are not harmless, and this is the fine point that is being missed by the public. The public is being misled by a lot of advertising that speaks of vaping products as harmless, as healthy, as safe, as better and safer than tobacco products.
 
While a person who completely switches from smoking to vaping is going to remove a whole list of carcinogens, and nasty tar, and nasty chemicals from the combustible cigarettes, we do know that the vaping aerosols can contain a variety of substances, including formaldehyde, heavy metals, fine particulates, as well as the nicotine.
